Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, email us at [email protected] or chat with us on WhatsApp.
Do I get channels with the app?
No. Sakis Player is a player, in the same way a media player is not a film. You bring the portal, Xtream account or M3U playlist from your own IPTV provider, and the app displays it nicely on your TV. We neither sell nor host any channels, films or streams.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 7 days, and it starts on its own the first time you open the app on a TV. No card details are requested for the trial.
What is the Virtual MAC and why does my provider want it?
Portals of the Stalker/MAG type identify a device by its MAC address. Your TV is not a MAG box, so the app is given a virtual one. Give your provider exactly the address the app shows — it is on the app Home screen and in My account.
Does one licence cover all my TVs?
No. One licence covers one device. A second TV needs its own activation, and normally its own access from your provider as well, because most portals allow a single live connection per MAC.
Can I move my licence to a new TV?
Yes, yourself. Link the new TV to your account, then use "Move a licence to another TV" in My account: the new TV takes over the plan and your provider, and the old TV is freed. One licence still covers one device.
Can I change my provider later?
Any time, and as often as you like. Open the TV in My account, expand Details & troubleshooting, and edit the portal there. If the TV holds more than one, you can also switch between them from the TV itself — the Portals tile on the Home screen.
My channels stopped working. What do I try first?
In My account, open the device, expand "Details & troubleshooting", and press "Reset app login". Most portals permit only one active session per MAC, so a crashed or duplicated app can leave a stale session behind and block the next one. That button clears it. Then close and reopen the app on the TV.
Which devices are supported?
Android TV and Google TV, Fire TV, Samsung Smart TVs (Tizen), LG Smart TVs (webOS), MAG/Infomir boxes, Enigma2 satellite receivers (OpenPLi, OpenATV, VU+, and similar), and Android phones and tablets.
How do I install the app on a Fire TV or Fire Stick?
You install it directly from us, which Fire TV calls "sideloading" — a normal, built-in feature. It takes a few minutes and you only do it once. (1) On the Fire TV home screen choose Find → Search, type "Downloader", and install that free orange app by AFTVnews — it comes from Amazon's own store. (2) Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps, and switch Downloader ON. If "Developer options" is missing, open Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight your device name and press OK seven times; the menu then appears. (3) Open Downloader and type this address in the box: sakisplayer.com/fire — no www, no https — then press Go. The file is small (about 4.7 MB) and downloads in seconds. (4) Press Install, then Open. Downloader can delete the leftover file afterwards. (5) The 7-day trial starts by itself; link the TV to your account with the code it shows. Sideloaded apps appear at the end of your app list — use the app list menu to move it to the front. Full illustrated steps are on the Activation page.
Is installing outside the Amazon store safe?
Yes. The download comes from our own website over an encrypted connection, and Fire TV asks your permission before installing anything. Sideloading is a supported Fire TV feature, not a hack, and nothing about your device is modified. The app is the same one that runs on Android TV.
Do I need to install anything on a MAG box?
No. MAG boxes load the interface from the internet. Put https://sakisplayer.com/mag/ in Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals and restart the portal.
Are updates included?
Yes, for as long as your licence is valid. Apps installed from a store update through that store; on Fire TV the app tells you when a new version is ready and installs it for you; MAG boxes and Enigma2 receivers always load the current version automatically.
What happens when my licence expires?
The app keeps working but stops loading content, and tells you the licence needs renewing. Your portal details stay saved in your account, so renewing puts everything back as it was.
Do you store my provider password?
It is stored encrypted and is sent only to your own activated devices — never shown back to you in full, and never handed to anyone else. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
Can one TV use more than one provider?
Yes. A paid licence stores up to four providers on the same TV; a trial stores one. You add them in My account, under the TV, and on screen they appear as Sakis-1 to Sakis-4 — your provider is never named on the TV. Switch between them with the Portals tile on the app's Home screen, without restarting anything.
The app asks for a “Box profile”. What is it?
Stalker/MAG portals expect the device to say which model of set-top box it is. The app answers MAG322 by default, which almost every portal accepts. Leave it alone unless your provider specifically asks for another model — then pick it from the list next to the portal and reopen the app.
