Content Compliance & Anti-Piracy Policy
This page states, in one place, what Sakis Player is and is not, and the measures we take so that the service cannot be mistaken for, or used as, a source of unauthorised content. It is written for our customers, for rights holders, and for the app-store reviewers who certify the application.
1. Sakis Player is a player, not a content service
Sakis Player is a media player and device-activation service — the software equivalent of a set-top box. It supplies no television channels, playlists, films, series, radio or streams of any kind, and it hosts none. There is no catalogue inside the application, no search of the internet, no browser, no downloader, and no way to open an address typed in by the viewer. It cannot obtain content on its own.
2. Where the content comes from — and where it does not
To use the app, a customer must already hold a valid subscription with an IPTV provider of their own choosing. The customer enters, through our portal, the connection details their provider gave them. From then on the video travels directly from that provider to the customer's device. It never passes through our servers, and we never see, store, cache or relay what anyone watches. We operate no streaming infrastructure.
3. Demonstration content is openly licensed
So the application can be evaluated without an account, a fresh installation is shown three demonstration streams that are openly licensed and served for exactly this purpose: Big Buck Bunny (Blender Foundation, CC BY 3.0), Tears of Steel (Blender Foundation, CC BY 3.0), and Apple's public HLS test stream. No copyrighted third-party channel, film or series is ever bundled with the app or served by us.
4. Clear disclaimer, shown to every user
On first launch, before anything else can be done, the app displays a notice — in several languages — stating that Sakis Player delivers, broadcasts and transmits no channels, portals or playlists, and that it distances itself from any unauthorised use of copyright-protected material in all its forms. The same position is stated on our website, in the app store listings, and in the Terms of Service.
5. Acceptable use
- The customer is solely responsible for the legality of the provider, portal, playlist or stream they connect to, and for holding the necessary rights or subscription.
- The app must not be used to access content the user is not authorised to receive, or to infringe anyone's copyright.
- We may suspend or terminate any account or device used in breach of these rules or for any unlawful purpose.
6. How the app is sold and distributed
We sell a licence for the player — per device, for a period of time. Our resellers distribute activation credits that switch that licence on for a device. A licence and a credit are not a television subscription: they do not pay any IPTV provider and grant access to no channels. Neither we nor our resellers sell, resell, bundle or broker access to any channels, films, series or streams through this service.
7. Copyright complaints and takedown
Because we host no content, a takedown against us cannot remove a stream — but we act on every valid notice by cutting off the offending account or device. 8. Privacy
The application contacts https://sakisplayer.com for licence checks only. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and we do not profile viewing behaviour. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
